Dr. Ifeoma Okoronkwo, warmly known as Dr. O, is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician. Dr. O specializes in Regenerative Medicine: a new, cutting-edge science for treating aging and degeneration in the body. Whether your aging process leads to arthritis or sagging skin, or you experience trauma causing a muscle tear or scar, Dr. O has a method for treating it!
Dr. O couples her vast knowledge of medicine and extensive experience with her genuine love for helping people to create a personal, communicative, and all-encompassing patient experience. She wants to know your story because she knows every story is unique and important. The Dr. O Method™ is all about treating the source of a problem, not just about finding the right bandaid to treat the symptoms. This approach requires a thorough examination and proper diagnosis which is Dr. O’s area of expertise. Dr. O values her patients above all else and she is here to help you starting feeling and looking better too!
After graduating from Yale University in 1987 with a bachelor of arts degree and completing her medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College in 1994, Dr. O went on to become an Attending Physician at NYU’s Langone Medical Center. She quickly proved to be extremely skilled in her field and earned the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at NYU’s School of Medicine where she passed on her knowledge to the next generation of medical residents. She has taught at NYU Langone Medical Center, and lectured at The Scleroderma Foundation, the DOROT organization, and the Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital. Dr. O has been a featured speaker at various medical conferences on chronic pain management, spinal pathology, sports rehabilitation, and alternative therapies.
Today, Dr. O runs her practice from a private practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. There, a host of specialists, including physical therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists give Dr. O’s patients access to a variety of pain management and physical therapy modalities.
